Edmonton FLL Championship 2019

Edmonton FLL Championship 2019

Eleven amazing robotics teams from Progressive Academy competed on January 26th in the Edmonton FIRST Lego League Championship at NAIT.

Five of our teams were from grades two and three, who competed in the FLL Jr. divisions, where students worked hard to learn about the challenges of living in space. Each team created displays to showcase their learning and demonstrated the moon bases they built, complete with displaying their programming skills with their moon rover.

Our FLL teams were also tested on their skills and on all the work they have been doing since September. The competition included programming autonomous robotic missions, completing a presentation about a problem and solution they identified about living in space, and an activity relating to their Core Values around teamwork, inclusion and spirit. Out the 49 FLL level teams competing, two of our teams brought back awards from competition. Team “Are You Sirius?” received a second place award for Inspiration, showing off their enthusiasm and spirit towards their goals. The team “Total Eclipse” received a first place award for Teamwork as they showed strong communication, effective problem solving and shared goals in every aspect of their competition.

What a great competition, we are so proud of the efforts and learning that went into the presentations of all the teams, good work!
