When Junior High student Jamella was asked what she wanted to do when she is done school, and then invited to pursue and find our more about the field in her independent studies class, her teachers knew that she would run with it. Jamella is interested in becoming a pediatrician and immediately contacted pediatricians in the city with questions she wanted answered. One of her questions was “when can I come to see you?”
Jamella is a student that is hard to say no to and she not only visited an office, but through a contact she met at the Stollery Childrens Hospital was able to arrange a day for her and two other students to work on a research project with the University of Alberta’s Swine Research Institute.
