On Saturday, January 21st, 2017, Progressive Academy Grade 4 – 6 students took part in the FIRST Lego League Tournament at NAIT. This year’s theme was Animal Allies. Students researched human and animal interactions, identified a problem, and posed a solution. They then had an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills at the tournament. Teams were judged on several criteria. Progressive Academy’s FLL teams placed extremely well! The Potters took second place in programming, while the RS Robotics Squad paced first in Teamwork!  We are very proud of our enthusiastic and competent students. The Halloween Party starts this Friday, October 30th at 4:30 pm in the Progressive Academy Gymnasium. Pot Luck supper is at 5 pm. The Progressive Academy rock bank will play for the dance! It was with pleasure that Progressive Academy welcomed Mayor Stephen Mandel to visit our school today! He was greeted at the doors by several members of staff and three Junior High students, Anmol, Amel and Ayisha. Accompanied by their teacher, these students had attended Mayor Mandel’s State of the City Address Luncheon two days earlier, and were eager to ask him questions about what they heard.  The mayor spoke with the students for 10 minutes answering questions, like “What did you mean when you said ‘patience is costly’?”, “Do you think its fair that the city pays for the arena?”  The students also asked theLearn more

Our annual Halloween Family Dance and Potluck will be held Friday, October 26th from 5-7pm in the gym. Not only will the DJ spin some great tunes to dance to but our Haunted House will be spooktacular.
